sketchbook

years ago, i had a number of journals and sketchbooks that i would write in and have on hand religiously. i recently bought another in the hopes of jumpstarting that method once again. unfortunately, i only did the one entry (see above). maybe with my resurgence of interest in faces--and my relatively open schedule--i can actually get something in there...

Ugh, I have probably six different writing journals...I have managed to use about six pages in each, and now they are dust covered and packed away...except for the two latest additions that I keep promising I will use daily....*looks around* ya, still don't carry them with me, might be part of the problem.
Mary Ellen asked if I had written over the holidays, I decided to go for the honest answer of "no"....BIG mistake...I got a lecture, a very honest and real lecture mind you, but honesty did not pay me kindly this time.
The effort now is to think in small bits of time...the writing journal is not to write the next epic novel, it is to catch those fleeting moments of inspiration that only exist in three or ten sentences.....YEESH.
So when you talk about finally having time to draw in your journal...don't forget that even when we are busy, we have those spaces that still remain captured!
Keep on keeping on!
